TERM	DESCRIPTION
Alarms	The electronic device used to indicate bites by sound and LED lights
Baiting/Boilie needle	Tool which is used to put boilies on the hair
Bed chair	This is a type of stretcher used for comfort whilst on a long session
Bivvie	The name given to a one man tent used by specimen anglers
Boilie	Boiled normally round bait, used to attract fish to the hook
Boilie arbour	Tool to make holes in boilies to put cork or sponge in, to make pop up
Bolt rig	A system used to hook a fish when it gets a fright and “bolts”
Brollie or brollie camp	This an umbrella with sides, to keep from getting wet when raining
Butt hanger	This is used for bite indication; it normally hangs on the line
Carryall	A bag used to carry systems boxes and spare equipment
Feeding Campaign	The feeding of a specific area at a dam over a long period of time to make the fish accustomed to the fact that there is always a specific food source available
Hair	The part of the hair rig that holds the bait in position
Hair rig	A system of having an open hook but still using bait as the attractor
Hold all	A bag used to carry and protect rods, reels and other items are put in the bag
Hook bait	This is the bait that is put on the hair
Hook link	The part of the rig going from the swivel to the hook, or last part of the rig
Inline	The term used to describe the way in which the lead was/is attached to the end tackle
Isotope	The small light in the back of swinger
Knotless knot	A knot that is used, to tie hooks onto the hair rig system, by whipping the line around the shaft of the hook
Landing net	In specimen angling a net made from a knot less material, so as to prevent damage to the fish
Lead	Is the weight or sinker
Lead system	This is the type of system used for the leads, example bolt or inline
Main line	This the name for the type of material used on the reel to the end tackle
Marker float	This is a marker used to mark a particular spot in the water
Marker float system	This refers to the rod, marker float and the way in which the marker float was tied to the main line
Mouse Trap	Normally a handful of particles boilies or tigernuts used around your grounbait as a feeding area for fish
Particle	These are numerous, seeds used as attractors or ground feed or as a hook bait
PB – “Personal Best”	Ones heaviest weighing fish of a specific species or sub-species
Pop up	This is a boilie that can float
Rig	This is the weight, hook link, swivels or complete terminal tackle
Session	Is the period of time spent by an angler at the waters edge
Snags	These can be above or below the water, it is also seen as a place where the rig will foul up and have to be broken off
Spod	This is a rocket type container used to cast out particles or boilies to make a ground bait patch
Swim	The area that normally is occupied by one angler, this includes the area fishable in the water in front of the angler
Swingers	This is used for bite indication and is normally spring loaded
Systems box	A dedicated box used for the storage of end tackle pieces
Terminal or end tackle	Is the term used to describe the leader, lead system and hooks and hook link
Test curve	The measurement of how much weight is needed to bend the rod to 90 deg
Unhooking mat	A type of mattress used to lay the fish on whilst it is unhooked from the rig
