First off before we actually get into the rig I am going to describe lets talk a little about rig mechanics.
The job of all rigs or hooking systems is to hook the fish and preferably in the bottom lip.

Let's now look at how a carp feeds, because from this you will understand the rigs used by specimen anglers far better.
Carp feed normally on or near the bottom of the dam or lake, sucking up food and ejecting the unwanted stuff. So we make rigs to suit that kind of operation.
